Part 2 of Ahmed Timol’s inquest premiers
Another Ahmed Timol documentary to air this weekend
The continuation of Ahmed Timol’s inquest into his death airs this Sunday on SABC 3 at 7:30pm.
Titled Someone to Blame, this documentary, directed by Enver Samuel, will provide you with evocative details of court proceedings as family and friends seek the truth about the real cause of Timol’s fate, after 46 years of waiting.
On 27 October 1971, Timol plunged to his death after ‘falling’ from the 10th floor of the John Vorster Square Police Station. Apartheid police at the time claimed he had committed suicide, but new evidence from the premiering documentary revealed that he was tortured before being thrown out of the building.
The broadcast of Part 1, called Indians Can’t Fly, made the airwaves last Sunday.
