Organisers share disappointments and way forward ahead of awards

Leading to the awards, the award organisers have shared some of the trials and tribulations that they’ve endured.

The Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards (MKHMA) ceremony is coming up and the organisers have made some changes due to unforeseen elements and for the betterment of the awards.

The third annual awards, that seek to celebrate musicians in the genre of house and Kwaito and its radio personalities, has been set for 24 November at Carnival City in Boksburg.

Leading to the awards, the award organisers have shared some of the trials and tribulations that they’ve endured, including the pulling out of their MC, an accomplished kwaito star, television and radio host who, according to them, left after being allegedly paid a deposit.

“We are disappointed that one of our most loved Kwaito artists has made this decision without informing MKHMA management of the reason behind his having cold feet so close to our main event which will be hosted at the Top Arena in Carnival City, but we have decided not to take legal action against him as he is one of our own and we will always support our local artists. As disappointing as it is, life goes on. I don’t hold grudges and may the Lord I serve bless him. We are ready for 24 November and we will be announcing our host soon,” said the MKHMA founder and CEO, Perfecta Khumalo.

The line-up on the night of the awards include the likes of BusiswaTrompiesHeavy KDJ Maphorisa and Mshoza, just to name a few.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at any Computicket outlet.
