VIDEO: Foam floods the Klein Jukskei River in Welties

The water contamination has resulted in the foam being visible in the river underneath the unsafe Spring Road bridge in Weltevreden Park.

Reported sewer leakages have caused more pollution to the Klein Jukskei River which flows along Weltevreden Park.

The flow of foam has been ongoing for about two weeks according to concerned residents who wish this issue to be resolved for health reasons.

Ward 114 councillor David Brand who admitted sewer leaks were the cause of the problem said Johannesburg Water (JW) is investigating the problem.
