Town Square shopper wins trip to New York

Karen Potgieter won a trip to Times Square, New York City, after entering into the Town Square to Times Square competition.

SA Corporate Real Estate (SACRE) welcomed a full house of people to their first Food Truck Fest, which also saw the announcement of the winner of the Town Square to Times Square competition.

Throughout the month of August, Town Square shoppers had the opportunity to win a trip to Times Square, New York City, by simply spending R200 or more at any one of the stores at the centre. The trip was sponsored by the owner of the centre, while SACRE, in association with Provantage Mall Ads, drove the competition and organised the Food Truck Festival on Friday, 31 August.

Two shoppers who had spent R200 or more, Gianluca Tadrello and Karen Potgieter, were in attendance at the Festival and stood the chance to win the trip as finalists in the competition. Gianluca had spent his entry-winning R200+ on printing study notes for his students at the 3@1 store at Town Square. Karen, on the other hand, had spent hers at Pizza Del Forno on a date with her partner Marcel Baartman.

The reason behind their spend had nothing to do with them being picked as finalists, let alone the winning draw, as it was done by hand by SACRE’s Property Manager Natasha Konig.

With the attention of all in attendance drawn to the stage, Siphelele Sokhela announced Karen Potgieter as the winner of the trip to New York.Karen will be taking Marcel with her on the trip, which they will be hoping to take in either December this year or March next year. Neither Marcel nor Karen have been overseas before, and are eagerly awaiting the trip to NYC.
