While women are being celebrated for their contribution to society for Women’s Month, Silverstar Casino made the month even more extra special by appointing Izelle Verster as the new hotel manager of Southern Sun Silverstar.
Izelle who’s climbed up management ranks at Silverstar through her work ethic is a hospitality leader with three years’ experience in a four-star establishment. She is experienced in financial planning and human resource management. Her role will include being responsible for creating excellent guest experiences and motivating employee engagement.
She attained her Hospitality management qualification from the University of Johannesburg and furthermore enrolled in the Tsogo Academy and Lobster Ink where she also received certificates for her training over the years.
Describing her day-to-day role, she said, “I oversee the efficiencies and operations of the hotel. My role entails a lot of personal interaction with guests, suppliers and staff.
“My role often requires me to be firm and strict. I have made it a point to form strong relationships with my team members, which makes it a bit easier to provide honest constructive feedback”.
When asked about the most rewarding part of what you do, she responded, “ I get exposed to different leaders of the hospitality industry. It is always a pleasure to have the opportunity to learn from another person, it only helps me grow as an individual.
