Durban Women’s Race debutante to tackle Joburg edition

One of the runners set to take on Thursday's Women's Race will be running her second Women's Race of the year.

Glenrose Xaba will take on her second Totalsports Women’s Race of 2018 on National Women’s Day this Thursday, 9 August, in Johannesburg.

Glenrose made her Totalsports Women’s Race Durban debut at the end of July and secured gold in an impressive time of 33 minutes and 41 seconds.

“I really enjoyed the Durban race, it was exciting,” she said. “My victory in Durban was really special. It’s given me the confidence to challenge for bigger honours.”

Despite the Durban edition being the first time she ran the race there, this will be the second time that she takes on the Totalsports Women’s Race in Johannesburg. “I love that it’s a ‘women only’ race and am hoping for a good performance on the day. I always enter a race with the goal of giving my best,” an ambitious Glenrose said.

“If it is good enough for me to win, I will be happy. There are some really fast ladies here in Gauteng, so the challenge will be tough.”
