Youth leader serious about tackling unemployment

“If you decide to stay at home please don't make a noise when you see things happening in front of on your face. No one will work for you to benefit,” David emphasised.

Zandspruit Youth Forum chairperson, David Mangena, is exhausting every channel and strategy available to create change in Zandspruit.

Most of the youth in this Honeydew informal settlement are unemployed, but David’s mission is to relieve their plight.

This youth leader recently hosted a youth restructuring meeting at Realeboga Crèche. “The purpose of the meeting was to establish a team that will assist the youth with job applications, entrepreneurship, sports development and cultural activities,” he said.

He encouraged the youth to participate in such meetings. “If you decide to stay at home, please don’t make a noise when you see things happening in front of on your face. No one will work for you to benefit,” David emphasised.

“After the process is complete we will present the teams to our councillor and the ward committee so that we have good coordination,” he concluded.
