Where is our tax money headed?
It’s always devastating to read about shack fires and people being evicted from ‘private land’. These inhumane acts get me wondering what our government is doing with our tax monies.
In 2018, after 24 years of celebrating democracy in this country, it’s a shame to see so many people still suffering and living under the breadline.
It’s funny how politicians are so quick to show their faces and make promises to the less privileged when it’s time to go to the polls. I think it’s time politicians start practising what they preach and do the right thing for the citizens of this country.
A lot could be sorted out if our government would allocate land and build houses for those in need and provide learnerships and skills programmes to empower the less fortunate communities – maybe then we can be pleased as taxpayers and applaud the government for bridging the line between the rich and the poor.
