Criminals open fire at law enforcers
Eventually, the officers managed to tackle one of the suspects who was unarmed and arrest him.
SRT Security officers managed to detain one of two suspects who started firing shots at them during a search in the morning of 16 July.
According to information on the SRT Facebook page, the response officers responded to a complaint on Kroton Street, opposite the Hillfox Shopping Centre in Weltevreden Park, where they noticed, while searching the property, that a hole had been made in the precast wall adjacent to Hendrik Potgieter Road.

They then started searching for the suspects on Hendrik Potgieter Road. They approached two men, one of whom fired three rounds at the officers. According to the information, the SRT officers did not fire back as the suspects had their backs towards them.
Eventually, the officers managed to tackle one of the suspects who was unarmed and arrest him, while the other suspect who was armed managed to escape.
Honeydew Police were called to respond and placed the suspect under arrest.
