Runners now have even more incentive to sign up for the Totalsports Women's Race this year.
Totalsports and all the sponsors of the 2018 Totalsports Women’s Race have gone the extra mile, securing one of South Africa’s most promising female artists to perform at this year’s edition of the annual race.
South African rapper and poet, Sho Madjozi, will entertain thousands of runners and walkers at the Totalsports Women’s Race at Mary Fitzgerald Square (Newtown) on Thursday, 9 August (National Women’s Day).
“It’s the freedom that I feel while performing that attracts me to this profession,” admitted Sho. “My job is to be creative and to make people happy. I have managed to incorporate the music that I enjoy and which used to be hardly heard at festivals and parties. This is the music that I longed to hear and now it is being played on radio (and at parties) because I made it.
“I am hoping to give the runners a good show at the Totalsports Women’s Race,” continued Sho. “Our performance is always energetic. The Totalsports Women’s Race feels like the perfect place for us to perform. I love that the event supports PinkDrive. It’s such a great initiative and I am proud to be contributing my talent to this day.”
The streets of Johannesburg will be painted pink on National Women’s Day (Thursday, 9 August) when thousands of women #RunUnited in support of PinkDrive.
