One arrested after business robbery
Honeydew Police's Captain Balan Muthan confirmed that one suspect was arrested after holding up a spaza shop at gunpoint.
Stolen goods were quickly recovered by Honeydew Police after they were alerted to a business robbery in Cosmo City on 5 July.
Spokesperson for the station, Captain Balan Muthan, confirmed that one suspect was arrested after holding up a spaza shop owner at gunpoint. “The three suspects, one with a firearm, entered the spaza shop and accosted the victim while he was offloading stock from a bakkie. He was robbed of R6 500, two cellphones and a quantity of cigarettes before the perpetrators fled the scene,” he said.

He added that the suspects used a white truck to escape, but were pursued by police and one suspect was arrested while the others fled on foot. “The truck and some of the stolen items were recovered,” Muthan explained.
The remaining suspects are still being sought.
