Learners conduct climate change research

This project was conducted by the science, geography and EMS departments as part of a cross-curricular task.

The Grade 9 learners at Trinityhouse High School Little Falls recently explored a possible solution to climate change.

This project was conducted by the science, geography and EMS departments as part of a cross-curricular task.

Titled ‘The Carbon Dome’, the project run by Carmen van der Merwe, Panos Tjitkos and Jenna Morton looked a little like something out of a science fiction film.

The learners worked together with the aim of working on the global competencies of research, communication, collaboration, self-management and thinking skills.

Their most important goal was to raise awareness of the effect of climate change on the environment with geography, looking at innovative solutions using science, and actual costing and marketing with EMS.
