On numerous occasions we have approached the council to attend to long grass and unruly vegetation that obscure the view of drivers. More recently, the islands along Hendrik Potgieter Road from the intersections at Clearwater Mall all the way to Peter Road have been attended to … thank you very much.
But some residents have shrubs on their pavements that have the same effect – in particular, at the corner of Conradie and Kingfisher Streets in Carenvale. To be able to see oncoming traffic from Ontdekkers Road, one has to enter the intersection nearly halfway.
We have asked the council to bring this problem to the attention of the resident, but to date the problem persists. Obviously the owner is blissfully proud of this shrub, and is not aware of the hazard.
