Participation earns learner great opportunities

The little Grade 1 performing artist participated in the 15th National Eisteddfod Young Performer Awards Competition, which was held on 19 May at the Roodepoort Theatre.

King’s School West Rand learner Caitlyn Mclean has been hailed for her outstanding performance at a recent competition.

The Grade 1 performing artist participated in the 15th National Eisteddfod Young Performer Awards Competition, which was held on 19 May at the Roodepoort Theatre.

Caitlyn finished in the top three, doing exceptionally well, and took the first position in her category for Speech and Drama – Lyric Poetry, Entry level (Grade 0–3).She also received an award for participation in the final round of the competition and a cash prize. On top of all that, she had the opportunity to meet two of South Africa’s most talented actors, singers and theatre-makers, namely, David Johnson and Bianca Le Grange.
