Police officer reportedly killed in high-speed collision

It is reported that one police officer died and two others were injured in the collision.

 

Unconfirmed reports have been received about an incident on Northumberland Avenue near the TicketPro Dome today, 21 May, involving a police vehicle and a taxi.

It is reported that one police officer died and two others were injured in the collision. The vehicle involved is said to be from Honeydew Police Station. The station’s spokesperson, Captain Balan Muthan, referred the publication to the provincial police, but they could not be reached for comment at the time the story was published.

The cause of the collision is unclear at this stage, but preliminary findings allude to the fact that the police vehicle was travelling to the scene of a reported suspicious vehicle carrying several armed men near the Dome.
