Panorama academy teams suffer as U/11s shine

Panorama Football Club (Pano) struggled to make a mark in this weekend's games, with the U/11 and U/17 teams the only sides able to walk away with victories.

The weekend’s fixtures started off with the academy teams (U/13 to U/19) taking part in the Gauteng Development League (GDL) away to Rosina on Saturday, 12 May.

It turned out to be a rather tough day for the boys from Pano, as the U/17 team was the only side able to walk away with a win. In a match that they dominated, they maintained a clean sheet and walked away 2–0 victors. The other academy teams all lost their games.

• U/13: Panorama 0–2 Rosina

• U/15: Panorama 1–4 Rosina

• U/17: Panorama 2–0 Rosina

• U/19: Panorama 0–1 Rosina

While the senior sides struggled to find their feet at Rosina, the U/11A side was back home at Panorama making the home crowd proud. In their match on 12 May, they walked away comfortable 3–0 victors against Luso.

The U/11C team from Panorama did battle with Marlboro on Sunday in a tense game that was only decided by the final whistle. After having fallen behind 2–4 by halftime and then 2–5 in the second half, the Panorama side rallied their forces and fought back to level the game at 5–5. Unfortunately for Pano however, the Marlboro team scored a match-winning free kick with about 10 minutes to go on the clock, thus sealing the game.
