Suspect nabbed in house break-in ordeal

The officers went to the premises where they saw a suspect standing inside the property. He fired at the officers and attempted to escape.

 

A security company bulletproof vest and a dodgy firearm were some of the items Beagle Watch Security officers recovered when they attended a house break-in in Weltevreden Park on 16 April.

According to information on the company’s Facebook page, their officers arrested one suspect when they responded to the call to the property on Gansiebos Street.

A security company bulletproof vest was found in the suspects’ escape vehicle.

Upon their arrival, they were informed that the armed suspects were currently breaking into another property on Gansiebos Street. The response officer called for backup and they went to the premises where they saw a suspect standing inside the property. He fired at the officers and attempted to escape.

One of the officers returned fire and apprehended one of the suspects, who was found in possession of a firearm with the serial number filed off. A getaway vehicle with a security company bulletproof vest in the boot was also seized.

The company commended its staff for putting their lives on the line to help rid the community of criminals.
