Ruimsig Retirement Village says ‘Good morning darling’

Ruimsig Retirement Village’s (RRV) social club held a ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ themed morning for the women at RRV on Saturday, 7 April.

More than 50 women turned back the clock on Saturday, 7 April when they dusted off their pearls and beads to dress up in the style of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

The gentlemen from Ruimsig Retirement Village were tasked with acting as waiters for the women, having to make sure they catered to each and every need at the breakfast.

Treated to champagne almost as bubbly as the guests at the breakfast, the women embraced their youth.

Once a number of speeches had been made, what was arguably the best part of the morning came around.

The women were tasked with parading their dazzling (and at times eye-catching) outfits to the three judges, ‘Clint Eastwood’, ‘Sean Connery’, and ‘Humphrey Bogart’.

The gentlemen, who professed to having more than 60 years worth of adjudication experience between the three of them, had to take into consideration a number of factors about the women’s outfits. These included the way the women paraded their outfits, and a number of them made sure they got to show the judges their ‘good sides’.

At the end of the day, the top three women were:

1st place: Anne Kriesoldt

2nd place: Christa van Zyl

3rd place: Lenie Pretorius
