FC Real jets off to England for Manchester Cup
Allen's Nek-based FC Real embarked for Manchester, England on Tuesday, 27 March where they will be taking part in the prestigious Manchester Cup.
FC Real was founded six years ago by head coach Bevan Bowers, and has made waves in the West Rand soccer community ever since.
The club plays in the Rand Central League, which they have dominated for the last six years, winning the title a total of five times across the age groups.

The club has worked hard for its success though, with teams for every age group from U/5 right through to U/15 training three times a week.
Their most recent league triumph came in 2017, with last year’s U/14 (now U/15) side taking home the trophy.

This same side will soon be travelling to Manchester, England, to take part in the prestigious international tournament, the Manchester Cup.
In 2017, 20 countries were represented at the tournament, and this year FC Real is representing not only itself, but the whole of South Africa as well.
The 15 players representing the club embarked on their journey on Tuesday, 27 March, along with Bevan and a few of the parents.
“We are extremely excited to be a part of this tournament, and are really looking forward to every minute of the tour,” Bevan said during their kit launch on Saturday, 24 March.
The players have also undergone two mental training and teamwork sessions from mental coach Keenan Paulsen, with the second taking place on 24 March.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for the players, as there will be a large number of talent scouts at the tournament,” said Bevan.
The tournament runs from 31 March to 6 April at the Wythenshawe Sports Ground, University of Manchester.
