Offenders fined during early festive season roadblock
The roadblock was part of the safer festive season campaign which has been gaining momentum in both the Johannesburg West and North precincts.
Thirty-eight raffic fines valued at R27 600 were issued to road offenders by the Gauteng Traffic Police during a roadblock initiated by the Johannesburg West and North Clusters on the N14 near Diepsloot on 8 December.
This successful roadblock, which saw 269 vehicles and 518 people searched, was part of the safer festive season campaign which has been gaining momentum in both precincts.

Honeydew Police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan said as the festive season has kick-started, the police are working relentlessly to ensure that all South African inhabitants are and feel safe at all times.
Muthan added that J534s (notices to appear in court or to pay a fine as an admission of guilt) to the value of R1 200 were also issued to offenders.
“This operation displayed the resoluteness of the police and other law enforcement agencies to ensure that all people celebrate the festive season in a secure and safe environment,” he explained
“Colonel Mogale, Diepsloot Police’s Vispol commander, has, on behalf of Major General Pharasi, from the Johannesburg West cluster commander, thanked all members for their contribution to the success of the operation. He urged members to make themselves available when requested to assist in operations for other clusters,” Muthan concluded.
