Muldersdrift gangster pays the price

Muldersdrift gangster put behind bars for the rest of his life.

 

The West Rand Cluster is currently celebrating the successful conviction and harsh sentence handed down to a notorious suspect by the Johannesburg High Court on 22 November.

Muldersdrift Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Masedi Masedi, indicated in a statement that the accused, Joseph Mpamba been terrorizing the Muldersdrift community by committing a spate of crimes. “These crimes ranged from robbery with aggravating circumstances, to attempted murder, robbery, murder and theft,” he said.

The following sentences were imposed on the accused:

· Fifteen years’ imprisonment for robbery with aggravating circumstances

· Eight years’ imprisonment for attempted murder

· Four years’ imprisonment for robbery

· Life sentence for murder

· Four years’ imprisonment for theft

Masedi commended the investigating officer who ensured this successful conviction. “This success is due to the hard work and dedication of detective Sergeant Manana, in cooperation with members of the community and Police members attached to other units,” said Masedi.
