Alleged fraudster nabbed on Hendrik Potgieter Road

The suspect is said to be wanted for over 30 cases of fraud, robbery and theft, Jordaan indicated.

 

An allegedly wanted fraudster was arrested and taken for profiling to the Honeydew Police Station on 15 November.

The man, whose grey Mercedes Benz was forced off the road by local security guards, was reported after he attempted to use a stolen credit card for a high-value purchase at a liquor store in Florida North.

The man was arrested on Hendrik Potgieter Road in Little Falls. “Our TRT officer saw the grey Mercedes Benz. He then called for urgent back-up. Other officers arrived and managed to stop the car on Hendrik Potgieter Road between Cascades and Fredenharry Roads in Strubens Valley,” said Gary Jordaan, BCI’s public relations officer.

He added that the suspect was detained while police were on their way.

“The West Rand K-9 unit arrived on scene and the suspect was arrested and taken to Honeydew Police Station for profiling and further investigation,” said Jordaan.

The suspect is said to be wanted for over 30 cases of fraud, robbery and theft, Jordaan indicated.

The K-9 Unit, Community Support Services and Honeydew CPF were thanked for their assistance at the scene.
