Pieces put together about mysterious bones
The bones were discovered with a bullet lodged in the skull.
The mysterious brittle corpse that was discovered by construction workers while excavating in Constantia Kloof has been identified.
Sergeant Reinier Henning from the Roodepoort K9 Search and Rescue Unit, who was at the scene near the junction of Wilhelmina Avenue and Jim Fouché Road on 14 November, had to take the bones to the national museum to determine what kind of animal they were from, since they were clearly not human.

The bones were discovered with a bullet lodged in the skull.
“The skeleton was taken to the museum. Apparently, the corpse was a wild pig,” said Henning, adding that the age of the remains could not be determined as yet.
This interesting finding has encouraged the Northsider to dig deeper into the history of Constantia Kloof and the animals that lived there. A full exclusive report will be published in next week’s edition.
