Mini’lypics boasts about successful competition

The Club has a working committee with six affiliated coaches.

A total of 240 swimmers from across Gauteng competed in the 28th annual Mini’Lympics swimming competition in Linden Swimming Pool on 29 October.

This extremely successful gala was hosted by Linrand Swimming Club, one of the oldest swimming clubs in Gauteng, established in 1988. The club has produced excellent swimmers, many of whom have gone on to national and international swimming status.

Swimming clubs and primary schools over a wide area, covering Pretoria, the East and West Rand, as well as the local suburbs, were invited to send swimmers between the ages of 6 to 10 to participate in the gala.

The aim of the gala is to encourage children to start competitive swimming at an early age. The event also gives the children an opportunity to put their skills and training to the test, as well as, and most importantly, to have fun!

The high standard of Mini’Lympics galas was once again demonstrated by the excellent swimming and fast times achieved by many of the swimmers.

Officials, including timekeepers, assistants and coaches were given credit for their contributions to this successful tournament.
