Firearm among serious finds during raid
With a mission to root out crime in the area, BCI Security has been hard at work reacting to tip-offs about criminal activities perpetrated in their jurisdiction.
Recent tip-offs to local authorities have led to the discovery and confiscation of alleged suspected stolen items and housebreaking equipment in the Strubens Valley and Little Falls surrounds.
With a mission to root out crime in the area, BCI Security has been hard at work, reacting to tip-offs about criminal activities perpetrated in their jurisdiction.
A division of the security company raided two settlements along with police as part of their proactive crime prevention and visible patrolling in the community.
The first raid was conducted on 4 November in a piece of veld close to Clearwater Mall which has been occupied by homeless people.

“Our teams arrived to find several illegal shacks in the veld and several people in the vicinity. A search of the area yielded a replica firearm, knives and items that could’ve come from smash and grabs,” said Gary Jordaan, BCI’s public relations officer.
Jordaan added that the raid followed numerous reports of suspects with a firearm robbing people between Builders Warehouse and Clearwater Mall on Hendrik Potgieter Road.
Jordaan speculated that the nabbed suspects were the culprits involved in robberies in the area.
The second raid took place on 7 November during a special operation between the BCI and police at a property bordering Strubens Valley.
“BCI Security requested the assistance of the Police K9 team and together planned an operation to surround the house. Both teams raided three abandoned buildings on the property and found evidence of multiple illegal occupants of the buildings,” Jordaan explained, adding that while searching, the authorities found implements used for housebreaking, items taken from burglaries and several weapons on the properties.
“We will keep on targeting criminals in our area until they realise that we won’t give up on preventing crime,” a determined Jordaan concluded.
