A member of the security personnel, Norman Mphilo from EC Security, indicated that the incident happened just after 1.30pm and that the suspects sped off in a VW Kombi with a damaged front after crashing into a security gate. “They drove through the main gate when the guard tried to close it,” he said.
Minutes later a similar vehicle was stopped on Malibongwe Drive by police and occupants were searched. However, Mphilo stated that the police had stopped the wrong vehicle.
This is a developing story.
