U3A West Rand bus tour details
Plans are afoot for the U3A West Rand branch red bus tour.
Following months of preparation, the University of the Third Age (U3A) West Rand branch has finally revealed its red bus tour details to the public.
Committee member Marthie Coetzer announced that the trip has been scheduled for 18 October, and invited all retirees on the West Rand to join in on the exciting trip.
Attendees will board the Citysightseeing Joburg, the red tour bus that provides exploration trips around Joburg’s suburbs and tourist attractions.
“Both the north and the south of Johannesburg will be covered, and we will visit four places of interest, chosen by the majority of members,” said Marthie.
She shared the requirements for the tour. “We need 50 people who are over the age of 50 to be part of the tour.”
She added that no visitors’ fees will be charged for non-members, and new members will be accepted into the organisation on the day.

The U3A is a non-profit organisation that started at the University of Toulouse, France. A more informal version has spread to more than 30 countries worldwide. South Africa has more than 25 independent U3A branches with a membership of about 11 000.
Booking for the tour can be done at the forum’s general meeting on 12 September at Wilgespruit NG Kerk or by calling Marthie on 083 297 9565. Alternatively, you can send an email to marthiec@telkomsa.net for more information.
