The Splash Circus is back in town!

Splash Circus's international acts have arrived to dazzle audiences.

Krugersdorp — After a brief pause while awaiting the arrival of the remaining international acts, Weber Brothers Entertainment and Matthew Cook are delighted to announce that Splash! The Water Circus is back on stage.

Performances will continue at The Globe at Silverstar Casino, from 7 September to 17 September, on Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 11am, 3pm and 7pm, and Sundays at 11am and 3pm. Ticket prices range from R100 to R375 and bookings can be made through Computicket or by calling 0861 915 8000. No children under two, and most especially no babes in arms, will be allowed into the auditorium.

The show’s first performance took place on 27 August at Silverstar Casino, and, according to Refilwe Ntuku, the Business Unit Director of Public Relations at Silverstar, because the show did not entirely meet the audience’s expectations, Silverstar made the decision to suspend all scheduled performances until further notice.

Matthew Cook, the local producer of the show thanked everyone who attended the opening show for their support thus far. “While we wait for the finalised details of when the remaining international acts will arrive to join the others already in the show, the decision has been made to cancel this week’s performances (31 August to 3 September), to ensure no further patrons are left disappointed,” he said in a press release at the time.

Originating in Russia, the Splash Circus is a concept that has become popular over the last 19 years. The show combines all the elements of circus that family audiences have loved for generations, but now with a modern twist.

To enjoy a taste of what to expect, watch the promotional video filmed at the final dress rehearsal at Silverstar Casino on 3 September:

Gymnasts, jugglers, clowns and mimes from countries around the world are ready to dazzle the crowds. The first half of the show is presented in a circus ring environment allowing traditional acts needing a larger space to perform and make full use of the circus ring. Added to the traditional setting is the use of video projections and lasers, offering a new twist to the traditional circus.

The second half of the show unveils a 10-metre pool of water, which transforms the stage during interval, with fountains where the artists perform in a setting that offers a distinctive twist to the regular circus setting.

The aerial acts performed above the water and at times surrounded by falling rain are enhanced by the dazzling lazer display and video projections.
