Careless resident robbed while snoozing
The victim was awoken by armed robber in his house.
A Willow Complex resident in Ruimsig had an unpleasant visit in the early hours leading to Wednesday, 16 August while sleeping with his door slightly open.
Honeydew Police spokesperson, Captain Balan Muthan said at about 3am, the victim was held at gunpoint by two intruders. One had a screwdriver.
“The victim was sleeping in the living room with the sliding door slightly open when he was awoken by two males, one armed with a pistol and the other with a screwdriver,” Muthan explained.
Muthan added that the suspects managed only to take two cellphones and a bag containing bank cards.
This is the second armed robbery at this complex within a month. On 15 July, two robbers with firearms robbed a resident of his laptop, television and two cellphones.

It is unclear whether the two suspects are linked to both crimes, but both cases are still being investigated by police.
During a recent spike in house robberies in the area, Honeydew CPF spokesperson Jon Rosenberg mentioned that most of the house robberies could have been prevented if residents played their part in fighting crime.
“A lot of these robberies could have been prevented if residents did not leave their cars outside their properties and their gates wide open,” Rosenberg said.
