Murder suspects nabbed during drunk driving operation

Two murder suspects arrested during drunk driving operation.

Two murder suspects who managed to evade arrest for a couple of years were arrested during a drunk driving roadblock this past weekend.

According to Honeydew Police spokesperson, Captain Balan Muthan, the two perpetrators were nabbed for an old murder case to which they were linked.

The arrest was a result of a joint operation between the Honeydew Police and the Joburg Metro Police which saw 34 motorists being arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

“During the past weekend, 34 suspects were arrested for drunk driving during an operation held by Police and Metro Police.

A further two suspects were arrested for murder – they were wanted for an old case,” said Muthan. This operation is expected to be ongoing, Muthan added.
