Sanitary towels handout for Mandela Day

The Johannesburg West Cluster reaches out to Zandspruit's young women and children.

While many organisations and businesses painted preschools and non-funded retirement villages for Mandela Day, the Johannesburg West Cluster Women’s Network,working with the Sector 4 Community Policing Forum visited the Itsuseng informal settlement in Zandspruit on 18 July, to hand out sanitary towels to women in the area.

A large number of women benefited from the cause which was in celebration of Madiba’s life. As part of the 67 minutes campaign, the members also visited pre-schools in the area and handed out beanies and blankets to the children.

Honeydew Police Spokesperson, Captain Balan Muthan, thanked all the stakeholders who made the event a success.
