MUST READ: Dogs poisoned in Randpark Ridge – 2 die

RANDPARK RIDGE – Dogs are fed two step at their home in Randpark Ridge.

A Randpark Ridge family is reeling in shock after two of their dogs died after eating a harmful substance during an alleged attempted house robbery on the property on 26 June.

The dogs, Tiger, Alex and Cody were rushed to the Honeydew Animal Clinic after they were found in a devastating condition at their home in Pikkewyn Avenue.

The dogs’ owner, Jonathan Stewart, told Roodepoort Northsider that he had to rush his dogs to the vet. “One dog died on its way to the vet and another died at the hospital, while the third one is in a critical condition,” a shattered Stewart said, adding that they discovered that Two Step, a pest control chemical used by farmers, was used to poison the dogs after an autopsy was conducted.

Stewart’s sister, Michelle, is convinced that the perpetrators were watching the action as it unfolded as they may have attempted to burgle the house after everyone had gone to the animal clinic.

She confirmed that nothing was taken but security and police were called to the scene to investigate the matter. She urged residents to be vigilant and keep their dogs safe.
