Young athletes excel in championships
PANORAMA – Panorama Primary School has a very successful term on the athletics field.
Panorama Primary School athletes did the school proud this past term with their achievements on the athletics field.
In total, 47 athletes qualified to take part in the Roodepoort Championships and went on to win 31 medals. Out of the 47 athletes, 14 of them took part in the District 12 Championships and took part in 21 events and walked away with 20 medals.

Two of these athletes, Brandon Mutombo and Jayden Hoskins, both broke records in the Roodepoort and D12 Championships for high jump and long jump respectively.
From the district championships team, 11 athletes qualified to take part in the Gauteng Championships which took place in Pretoria at the beginning of March.
A constant name throughout the different championships was Ilyaas Tootla.
“We would like to congratulate Ilyaas Tootla who was selected to represent Gauteng in the 100m and 200m races at the South African National Athletics Championships to be held in Potchefstroom,” said school principal, Graeme Moodie.
Tootla continued to make it to the semi-finals of both the 100m and 200m track races.

“As a school, we are very proud of all the athletes and we would like to wish them well and all the best for the upcoming meeting.
We would also like to thank all the coaches for their time and dedication. The excellent results are a showcase of the coach’s commitment,” Moodie added.
