Young artists collaborate to create beautiful music
WELTEVREDEN PARK – Local talents join forces to release a single, Come With Me
Two local talented artists have joined forces to release a new single.
Weltevreden Park resident, Jared Hundy (18), sees himself as a music producer, DJ and musician.
Since he was in Grade 10, he knew he wanted to create music for the rest of his life.
A talented guitarist, he was asked to play in a band for an SABC 3 TV show, Talent on Track, which showcases local, young artists.
This is where he met Northwold resident, Jade Maria (17).
Maria, a singer-songwriter with a long list of writing lyrics and recording experience overseas, was in need of musicians for her performance on Talent on Track.
Even though they were unable to carry on the show after the second round, Hundy and Maria decided to do a song together and, four hours later, they had their masterpiece.
Their song, Come With Me, has recently been released on iTunes and other music download platforms.
“We have completely different styles but we were able to infuse both our talents in this song and it meshed well,” said Maria.
The couple is looking forward to radio campaigns for their music. Maria currently wants to finish school and will write her final examination soon.
She also wants to continue to grow in music, gain followers and eventually also learn to produce.
Hundy, who is currently studying at the Academy of Sound Engineering, looks to create more of a local vibe in his music, which he describes as close to tropical house.
