Dios Los Ninos scholars have a blast at their Thaba Morula camp

WILGEHEUWEL – Dios Los Ninos scholars look back on their three days spent at camp.

The youngsters of Dios Los Ninos School could not contain their excitement for their camp trip to Thaba Morula.

The camp, situated in Beestekraal outside Brits in the North West Province, is the school’s annual camp destination. Grades 1 to 9 look forward to the trip every year, where they get to spend three days participating in fun outdoor activities.

Principal Leonie de Kock explained that it rained for three days but they did not sit out on one activity.

“We continued with the programme as if the sun was shining. We had a blast and won’t swap it for anything.”

The activities lined-up included obstacle courses, raft building, night walks, team building exercises, volleyball, swimming and game drives.

“Experiencing something like a camp with the learners cannot be described in words. You see a side of each child that will never be visible during school time. They love this time and they reveal different sides of themselves to us. Taking them annually is such a privilege,” De Kock said.

“There are so many funny and special moments in a camp – so many that I wouldn’t even know where to start. I can just say that I am so proud of all my learners. We arrived back at school with bags double the weight as all our clothes were wet, dirty and heavy.”
