O’Connor said it was his determination that allowed him to break records. He started his day at 6.45am for swimming squad training at school. He is also committed to many afternoon practices with the school squad and finds time for club swimming where he has obtained various level times at all the Central Gauteng Aquatics races.

With the records he broke and winning every race he participated in, O’Connor was awarded the senior victor ludorum at the gala. Salis was the senior victrix ludorum, Steven Lunderstedt was the junior victor ludorum and Amy O’Connor was the junior victrix ludorum.

At the end of the day, Devon House won the spirit trophy and Cornwall House along with Devon House were the overall winners.

Charterhouse thanked the parents and spectators for their support and encouragement on the day and applauded O’Connor for maintaining an outstanding academic profile while endeavouring to give his all to the Charterhouse extra-mural programmes.
