Femininity celebrated

Elegantly dressed women came together for a motivational day at the Avianto wedding venue in Muldersdrift for another Lady Rocci (Roodepoort Chamber of Commerce and Industry) event.

The approximately 50 business women who attended the event did not only have the chance to listen to three speakers, but enjoyed breakfast while networking. Master of Ceremonies, Louise Niemann, a Mrs Africa 2016 finalist, gave tips to the women on how to improve their self image.

Niemann introduced the much-anticipated speaker and author of Break Free, Ronel Harris. Music depicting the theme of the speech started to play while a dancing Harris, dressed in an elegant coat came into the wine cellar. “You are where you are in your life because of the choices you made in your life,” said Harris. Women in the audience were captivated while Harris told about her difficult past, but how letting go of her past made her life better.

Harris encouraged women to not feel sorry for themselves and be the strong women that they were intended to be.

Another speaker, survivor, mentor and fire walker, Cobus Visser told the audience about his struggle with the disease, hemophilia and how he almost gave up. He poured out shards of glass on the floor and demonstrated the fact that it is real glass. He explained that we are raised to believe certain things like glass will cut, but if you train your brain to believe otherwise then you could change your life.

He inspired women to believe certain things about their lives, so that they can make a better life for themselves. He challenged Diané Graham, events coordinator of Rocci, to believe that she could walk over glass barefoot, and she did so successfully.

The women were full of praise for Rocci in another successful event.
