Hoglets celebrate Christmas in July
ALLEN'S NEK – The children of the Harley Owners Group Clearwater learn about the gift of giving.
The Clearwater Harley Owners Group (Hog) Chapter celebrated Christmas in July with the children and grandchildren of Hog members, known as the hoglets, at their home in Harley Davidson Clearwater.
The children received presents from Santa Claus and were visited by Christmas elves and the Christmas fairy and snowman. Before the gifts could be handed out one of the elves stole Santa’s sack and the children were ushered around the block in search for the naughty elf.
Once the presents were found and handed out, the children indulged in sweet treats and games of musical chairs. Director of Hog Clearwater, Ian Hobib said July was the best time to hold such an event, which is meant to be something of a spoil the children. Each hoglet was asked to also bring a toy of their own to donate to a charity supported by Hog Clearwater, namely Rescue 911.
Hoglet mom, Zelda Honeyball, who organised the event, said,” Every second Friday the Hogs get together and donate food to old age homes or dog food to animal shelters. We use these events to teach the children about charity.”
Hog Clearwater is still collecting toys and non-perishable foods for Rescue 911 and the other charities they support. To get involved, the public can contact the Ladies of Harley officer, Leanne de Jager on 072 809 5884.
