Golfers play for charity
RUIMSIG – Grain Care helps various charities in need by holding an annual golf day.
The Ruimsig Country Club played host to yet another great golf day for charity on 31 May.
Grain Care, based in Randfontein hosted the golf day to raise funds for mainly Huis Weesgerus, a children’s home in Florida Park, but other charities as well. Grain Care is a registered NGO, and was established from various companies.
Mariaan le Roux, from the Grain Care committee explained that the golf day is one of two big fundraiser events held to better the life of many people by providing funds for children in need, families in need, needy schools and churches, medical needs, the elderly, homeless families and Christmas projects.
144 golfers divided into four-ball teams attended the day, not only to enjoy an 18 hole golf day but also to attend the auction in the evening. Singer, storyteller and comedian, Andries Vermeulen was the host of this highly-anticipated event.
