Tinfoil rocket ships and light sabers were the order of Panorama Primary School’s annual mini walk, which raises funds for the school.
This year, the theme of the walk, held on 29 April, was space exploration. Each year a theme is chosen and learners are encouraged to dress up to the theme. Prizes are awarded for the best outfits.
Grade 7 pupil, Abigail Louw, said, “I was thrilled with the theme as I am the biggest Star Wars fan and loved dressing up as Rey from the latest movie, The Force Awakens.”
Takalani Maduse in Grade 6 said his outfit was made entirely from recycled items, with the exception of the purchase of gold paint to paint the box of his robot body.
The event was organised by Grade 4 teacher, Tish Harris, who has organised the walk for many years. “I was very pleased with the enthusiasm and involvement shown by the pupils and their parents,” said Harris.
