Maragon Private Schools in Ruimsig assisted Primêre Skool Senekal in the Free State with water recently.
The project was initiated by Quinton Mulder from Maragon Primary School, who shared his vision with other staff members, parents and pupils.
They all met and discussed the water drive which was given a thumbs up by Maragon Private Schools.
According to the head of marketing Shelley Carroll, within a few weeks’ time, 16 558 litres of water were collected.
She said some offered to assist with transport.
Carroll explained that leading up to the week of Valentine’s Day, Maragon pupils swapped their traditional red and white outfits for
blue and white in support of the water drive.
Carrol added that blue was definitely the colour of love this year as Maragon reached out to the Free State community in need.
She said on 13 February, pupils, parents and teachers arrived at the school to assist with more water and loading the trucks.
“Upon our arrival at Senekal, the school staff were very appreciative and thanked all parties involved for reaching out to them,” explained Carroll.
