Joburg Water has confirmed that the major planned water shutdown scheduled for many of Roodepoort’s suburbs on 19 January  has been cancelled. Joburg Water spokesperson Eleanor Mavimbela said, “We cannot determine when it will be rescheduled.”

Mavimbela explained the reason for the cancellation.  “The repair team requires welders to fix the burst pipe. Unfortunately one of the welders was injured last night therefore the repairs cannot continue until another one is located,” she said.
