GALLERY: Silverstar Casino brings the beach to the city
MULDERSDRIFT – People can forget a for a moment about the big city rush and imagine that they are on the beach.
If you unfortunately miss out on the opportunity to go to the beach this holiday season, you can still dig your toes in the sand from 11 to 20 December at Silverstar Casino in Muldersdrift.
The launch of the beach festival was on 11 December and already people were walking around in swimsuits, sunglasses and hats. They were sipping cocktails and enjoying seafood while sitting on towels in the soft sand. For the many children that ran around their was hula-hoop, tug-of-war and ice-cream eating. All children activities are supervised. Silverstar Casino transformed their concrete square into a tropical paradise by covering a very large area with sand and have two water slides for children to stay cool.
The launch entertained guests with a blindfold ice-cream tasting, cocktail-making and seafood from the various restaurants at the casino. A band entertained beachgoers with summer songs and people feeling the summer vibe got up and danced along. The festival will not only cater for children during the daytime, but for adults as well. Beach bars serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, calypso bands, limbo competitions and a fire poi will be set up in the evenings.
For a brief moment people have the opportunity to forget that they are in the big city and enjoy the sun and sand with a cocktail in your hand.
