Incredible uplifts the community

Following a successful annual Golf Day on 30 October at The Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club,

Incredible Connection handed over a substantial portion of the revenue generated – R150 000 to the People Upliftment Programme (POPUP) – as part of the company’s commitment to Corporate Social Investment and changing the lives of those in need.

“As a brand, Incredible Connection is committed to being a responsible corporate citizen – not only through our corporate mandates and processes, but certainly through our local outreach initiatives,” said CEO, Stefan Marnewick. “We are very much focused on solution, services, and leadership and given POPUP’s focus on skills development, leadership development and community commitment – we felt it was a natural extension of our brand to support the POPUP team in their endeavours.”

The POPUP organisation is focused on various skills development programmes to provide less-privileged adults with the opportunity to become functional, working members of society. Examples of this training include: English and mathematical competency; personal growth and life skills; hospitality, sewing, plumbing, administration and computing. They also provide much-needed services for the community at large, such as dental, medical, optometry, counselling and clothing – to name a few.

As a result, the centre always needs equipment and funding to support its efforts and to make a real difference within the community, across their two centres in Gauteng.

Says Marlene Freislich, CEO at POPUP: “We are focused on transforming lives through personal restoration and life skills as well as entrepreneurial development and job creation within the community. As such, we rely on partners and sponsors who share our vision of making a difference in the communities in which they operate – and Incredible Connection has been a long standing sponsor and donor to our progammes. As we head toward year end, this donation will go a long way in uplifting our centres and increasing our resource pool for the year ahead – which is very much needed and appreciated.”

Marnewick concluded, “Empowerment and education programmes are critical to upliftment and as a technology specialist retailer we understand this – especially as technology and access is an enabler of future growth from both a business and a personal perspective. We are always looking to make a practical difference in any home or environment and we are delighted that this donation will do exactly that.”
