Maragon’s hip-hop dancer reaches finals

RUIMSIG – Warrick Naudé (10) reaches four final rounds during the IDO World Hip-Hop Championships.

Maragon Private Schools Primary pupil Warrick Naudé (10) reached the final round for four events recently, during the IDO World Hip-Hop Championships in Germany.

Coordinator marketing of Maravest Schools Belinda Espag said Naudé started dancing with Mario Gomes Dance Academy in 2012 and added, ” [During] Naudé’s first IDO World Hip-Hop Championships in 2014, he landed at 12th place in the U11 Solo Male Section. This year he was determined to better his results.”

Espag said Naudé trained five hours a day to ensure he reaches his goals.

She said he qualified to compete in five different events and was determined to reach the final round of at least one of these events.

“With hard work and determination he reached the final round in four of these events – exceeding his own expectations,” said Espag.

Final results:

Children’s hip-hop duos with his partner Mikayla Basson ‚ 20th place out of 65 entrants

Children’s solo male hip-hop – 6th place out of 53 entrants

Children’s formation crews (Kahos Crew) – 5th place out of 15 crews

Children’s solo electric boogie – 5th place out of 27 entrants

Children’s hip-hop small groups (Lil precision crew) – 2nd place out of 28 crews.

Warrick said he is very pleased with his results and is looking forward to the IDO World Hip-Hop Championships 2016 in which he hopes to better his results even more.
