Ward 85 Councillor Carl Mann reckoned there was limited communication between him and network cellphone provider MTN regarding the installation of cell towers in his ward.
According to the councillor, MTN was not clear about where they were going to install the cell towers.
He said they just sent him an email about the process, stating that they were going further with the project.
“They did not even give me co-ordinates or tell me where they will erect those towers. They insisted that they have sent me letters which I do not know about,” said Councillor Mann.
“They told me they will not be communicating with me anymore when I tried to follow up. I have been a councillor since 2011 and I do not understand why they were sending letters to the previous councillor,” said Mann.
He concluded that if residents knew where the towers were going to be put up, they should contact him and he would take the matter to the planning department.
MTN public relations specialist Mamello Raborifi is yet to respond and give detailed information about the cell towers in Ward 85.
