A Grade 12 pupil at Maragon Private Schools, Megan Perrins, achieved honours in Advanced II Modern Dance Teacher’s examination and honours with distinction for her Acrobatic Dance Teacher’s Associate examination.
Media liason Belinda Espag said Perrins now qualifies to teach both disciplines at junior level.

Espag added that these are Perrins’ cultural achievements outside of the school’s extra murals.
In addition to these two achievements, she participated in a few competitions as her priority is to successfully complete Matric.
In September, Perrins participated in the Roodepoort Dance Festival Championships and achieved a first place and a second place in her two solos.

In the same month, she competed in the AFSA Bursary and was placed third and for the second year in a row, she received a Special Award for Best Personality.
Espag said in October, Perrins competed in the Acrobatic Federation of South Africa Championships and achieved four awards, among them – first place in Open Duet; Best Choreography; Best Personality and Overall Senior Champion (third year in a row).
“Also in October, she participated in the South African leg of the American Dance Awards and competed in three events,” said Espag. ”Perrins was also awarded three ultimate gold medals and further received two special awards, in this competition,” she concluded.
