The DA Ward 126 held its annual general meeting on 10 October at the Weltevreden Park Municipal Library.
Neville Burnett, vice chairperson, opened the meeting on behalf of Jan von der Heyde, the chairperson.
Burnett spoke briefly about the important issues that need to be dealt with in the ward such as service delivery of Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) and City Power.
DA Shadow MEC for Safety and Security of Gauteng Kate Lorimer said, “It is an important time for our ward and our constituency in Johannesburg. The important question is – can we win Johannesburg out right?”
Lorimer stressed the urge to rally together as a ward in order to put sufficient pressure on government to act effectively.
