GALLERY and VIDEO: AKA rocks Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden
ROODEPOORT– The Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden was packed with AKA fans from all walks of life.
One of the most successful hip-hop artists in South Africa, AKA whose real name is Kiernan Forbes, performed on 4 October at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden in the Old Mutual Music in the Gardens, to an allegiance of excited fans.
Opening acts were Congelese singer and songwriter Tressor and hip-hop artist Yanga.
AKA performed his greatest hits such as Composure, Run Jozi and All eyes on me and the crowd sang along and danced with much enthusiasm.
This artist, who is known for his opinion and strange behaviour, has been in the news lately because of the controversy surrounding his relationship with the mother of his child, DJ Zinhle.
DJ Zinhle alleged that AKA, started a romantic relationship with Bonang Matheba, who is a Metro FM radio presenter, five months prior to the birth of their daughter Kairo Forbes.
Zinhle released a statement through her blog confirming that she had an honest conversation with AKA, in which he admitted to being in a relationship with Matheba for the past five months.
Both parties vehemently denied the allegations about DJ Zinhle’s claims made on her blog but instead Matheba requested for the DJ to remove her statement through her legal representatives.
Meanwhile, Matheba was seen backstage after AKA’s performance at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden dressed in a white summer dress that matched her Mercesdez-Benz AMG, which was parked right next to AKA’s VW Scirocco.
A representative from AKA’s camp denied permission for Roodepoort Northsider’ journalist to interview AKA and deleted some of the pictures that were taken backstage.
