Innovative ways of Facebook marketing
STRUBEN'S VALLEY – Cost of advertising can be too high for small business owners but, Facebook Pages could be the solution to their marketing strategies, argues Justin Vicar of The Network Hub.
Business owners, small businesses and home-based entrepreneurs shared and debated the fundamentals of Facebook Marketing at Hirsch’s Business Network Forum in Struben’s Valley.
The Network Morning was held on 30 September, and business people shared their expertise on a variety of business ideas and marketing tools of modern social media.
Justin Vicars of The Network Hub, explained how business people can make Facebook work from them and shared few steps that they can follow.

“At the moment up to 11.8 million South African use Facebook, but some business people do not know that they can open separate accounts for personal and business.
When you look at Google, if you want to open webpage, you would have to buy a domain name, purchase hosting account, and so on. But when you open a Facebook Page, you do not need to pay. All you need is a Facebook personal account,” Vicar explained.
He said Facebook Pages are easy to monitor, and have unlimited reach and interaction that is needed by business owners.
He further added that Facebook Tabs, can work like APPS, where business owners can open different pages, if they have different branches or if they want to separate their products.
“Be careful not to post every 15 minutes and keep your messages brief but ensure that you entice your followers – give-away prizes also help to boost your following,” advised Vicar.
Daniel Muller, Public Relations officer of Hirsch’s explained that these business networking forums are held monthly and anyone is free to join them.

“These Networking Mornings are available for free to anyone and it is just one way of networking among business people.
Anyone who wants to join can contact me by email,” concluded Muller.
